About Jabo

Jabo was founded in 1953 by Jan Bosman, an entrepreneur with a sharp eye for quality and natural materials. What started as a passion for structured carpets grew into a leading brand within the interior industry. For more than seventy years, Jabo has stood for craftsmanship, timeless design and conscious choices.

The carpet collections are defined by the use of honest, pure materials such as sisal, wool and coconut. They add texture and atmosphere to any interior and form a solid foundation for both residential and project-based applications.

With a clear focus on aesthetics, sustainability and quality, Jabo offers products that suit a thoughtful and stylish way of living.

Our vision

Jabo develops carpets inspired by natural structures and materials. With a strong focus on interior design and functionality, our carpets are created to bring atmosphere and a sense of calm to any space.

In the development process, we consciously work with materials such as sisal, seagrass and wool. These natural fibres form the foundation of our collections and are chosen for their appearance, quality and long lifespan.

The production process is set up efficiently with a clear focus on sustainability. By applying energy-efficient techniques, minimising waste and choosing renewable materials, Jabo contributes to a circular economy. In this way, we offer flooring solutions that are both aesthetically pleasing and responsibly made.

Weven

WEAVING

The warp forms the foundation: threads running lengthwise. The weft moves across them, guided by a shuttle. Heddles bring movement to the entire system. Layer by layer, a structure is created that carries strength and stability. Only once the backing is applied is the carpet technically complete. By varying techniques and materials, different patterns, textures and characteristics emerge. Sometimes clean and understated, sometimes robust and full of life.

TUFTING

With great precision, the yarn is pushed through a strong primary backing. Tufting is a unique process in which fibres are inserted into the base with force and rhythm. In cut pile, the yarn is cut with each stitch, creating a soft and open structure. In loop pile, the yarn remains intact, forming closed loops that give the surface a uniform, refined appearance. The process moves incredibly fast, with hundreds of needles working simultaneously across the full width of the carpet.
